Our Farms - Lokichar
Introduction
Lokichar is a small division and capital of Turkana South district. It is main inhabitants are the Turkana people with a few Pokots. The main occupation in this region is pastoralism with some little Agriculture practiced along the river banks.
The Lokichar farm
This farm originally started with 30 goats assigned to 30 children each. This has seen a growth of the farm with current figures standing at 30 Adult Goats and 30 New Births hence raising the number of goats on this farm to 60 Goats. It has a caretaker by the name of Stephen Essekon.
